Here is a simple guide on how to become a rock star.
A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality.
At some point in our life, we have dreamt of becoming a rock star. We watch the performance of our favorite rock stars on repeat and ask ourselves, “How do I become one?” Your favorite rock star had been in your position.
So how did your favorite rock star become one? You dream the same thing, but why aren’t you sharing the same spotlight? Well, it takes more than a dream to become a rock star. You need patience, passion, and strong will.
If you have those characteristics, then you’re ready to pick up your dream of being a rock star. Here is a simple guide to get you started.
Form a group.
Trust me, being a rock star is not a one-man show. You need a band to make it! Even if you’re planning to do solo, you’re still going to need a band to play the other instruments.
Once you have your group, choose a name. A lot of rock stars waste their time trying to create the perfect name, but you don’t have to dwell on that too much. Sure, it can attract people, but if you and your band have the real talent, any name you come up is immaterial. Just remember that the name you come up with is what your fans are going to be screaming during your concerts.
Pick your poison and drink it.
Choose what kind of rock star you want to be. If you want to be the center of attention, be the lead singer. If you don’t have the tune but still wants to attract attention, you can be the guitarist, the bassist, or the drummer.
Next, you have to know what genre of rock you want to specialize in. Be sure that the genre you pick is close to your heart. Otherwise, how are you going to nail it?
Don’t just dream it. Do it.
Of course, you can’t just let your dream work for itself. You have to work for your dream! Practice, practice, and practice. If you want to make it, you’re going to need a lot of practice. Even famous rock stars need to practice.
Also, try making music with your band. Make something you all can relate to. In that way, it will just fall naturally and easily. When you come up with your original composition, record it. Hearing your recording lets you know what needs to be polished.
Looks do matter.
In love, looks may not matter, but in rock-and-roll business, it does. If you want to become a rock star, you need to perfect your looks. Create a look that makes you identifiable, and rock that look!
You need to choose the clothes you feel comfortable with and glam it a little. Remember also that confidence is the key. So no matter how stylish your look is, you can never perfect it if you don’t have confidence.
With the use of modern technology, it’s easier to create your fan base. Create a band account in Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and other social media websites. Make a video of your performance and upload it on your accounts. Be sure that your account is updated so everyone knows what you’re up to.
Also, share the videos to your friends and ask them to share it with others. But if you’re good, no need to ask them to share it because they will voluntarily hit that share button.
Another way of advertising yourself is to play at gigs. Whether it’s for a cheap fee or for free, you’re going to need all the exposure you can get. Even famous rock stars started their career playing for free!
Above all, never give up. Achieving your dream is not that easy. You need to work hard for it. You’re going to experience the highs and lows of wanting to make it in the music industry, but whatever happens, you have to have faith in yourself. Believe in your talent and never give up. Only you are accountable to making your dream become a reality.
Best of luck!
